Uplands is registered to provide nursing care, not standard residential care. All residents benefit from qualified nursing oversight, which is the right level of support for people with more complex health needs. Our team can help you understand whether nursing care is the right fit for your loved one.

Yes. Uplands is a single-storey, ground-floor home — making it one of the most accessible care environments in the area. There are no stairs between residential areas and all spaces are fully accessible for residents using wheelchairs or mobility aids.

Yes. Uplands is registered as a pet-friendly home. Please contact us to discuss individual arrangements, as this is managed on a case-by-case basis.

Yes. Uplands is specifically registered to support people living with Parkinson's disease, those recovering from stroke and people managing COPD and other pulmonary conditions, in addition to our core nursing and dementia care services.

The home is registered for up to 65 residents, all in single rooms. Please call us to check current bed availability.

We accept self-funding (£1,500 per week for nursing, nursing dementia and respite), local authority funding with or without a top-up and NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC). Eligible residents may also qualify for NHS Funded Nursing Care (FNC), currently worth £267.68 per week. Our team can explain all pathways clearly.

Yes. Hospital discharge teams, social workers, GPs and other healthcare professionals are welcome to contact us directly to discuss needs, timeframes and availability.
